US Nats 2006

Below are some pictures displaying planes and people that were in attendance at the US nations for Precision Aerobatics 2006. I only had a chance to photograph some pilots on my line in the F3A class as well as some pilots in Masters class. Hopefully it will give you an idea of what models are flying In general in the US for the year 2006. Many thanks go to Xavier who was more willing to spend time taking photos.

This year at the NATS the weather was different (and unusual) than the previous year. I am told that most NATS are very windy. This was only my second time competing at Muncie Indiana. The first time which was last year, we had howling winds and hot hot weather. This is the norm I am told. This year we had moderate winds. The temperature was very hot, and we even finished off in the finals with rain threatening thunderstorms at times.

I was part of the small Canadian contingent attending. Chad Northeast, Adam Glatt, Xavier Moroux, and me were the Canadians. It is an important contest to attend if you are serious at all about competing. The site is outstanding. Large paved runways and beautiful grounds. A venue dedicated to R/C flying in general.

Here in 2006 we see trends and the style of the day. Most all the top guys have gone to electric however manufactureres such as YS motors continue to battle the electric.

Lots of shots of different planes (maily electric) and pilots.
