Plettenberg Motor setups |
Below are a series of shots at different Plettenberg electric motor setups. We begin with my friend Xavier who is building an e-version of the Synergy. He is mounting his Plettenberg 30 10 outside of the fuse. His firewall is flush with the nose of the plane which makes the firewall smaller and lighter. This is only possible when using a specially designed spinner which houses the whole motor and which gives cooling through holes near the tip of the cone. This also means that a special 2-piece prop is going to have to be part of his setup. Xavier's plane sits at 9.25 lbs before covering.
Where can you get this setup? Well, just visit ICARE Saleplanes and Electrics web site at http://www.icare-rc.com/
I will also shortly list the part names and try to find out approximate cost for anyone that is interested.
Note: It is extremely important that you take care and balance this system properly. Make sure that the blades are balanced as best as possible.
