I've recently returned back home from this years Canadian team trials and Nationals which was a combination event this year held in Lindsay Ontario, about a 2 hour drive from my doorstep here in Kingston. For this I feel so lucky. I raise my glass to the competitors who traveled from far and away locations. Places as far as Victoria BC and Northern Quebec. All the hassles and expenses involved. I know how it can be.
This year the event was put on by Harry Ells, Jeff Stevens and other members of the Kawartha Lake R/C club. It was very efficiently run as it usually is. My personal thanks also goes out to the judges that gave their time to do this task.
It was great to see Ivan Kristensen arrive back onto the pattern scene with a vengeance. His enthusiasm, skills, and wisdom will add greatly to our discipline and he will keep everyone on their toes for sure.
I must say that I enjoyed the company of all competitors who attended. A great bunch of guys from all across the country. Very driven in what they do. Very passionate, and great sportsmen, all of them.
This year the rain made the field very soggy and there were puddles all around us and nowhere was safe to stand without getting feet wet. I'm sure that all who didn't' have the fore site to bring waterproof footwear like me, had wet feet for 3 days. Other than that the weather was too perfect with almost no wind at all. With that all being said, I will post some of Xavier's pictures. Sorry man but I'm going to steal them as they are on my hard drive :) Thanks by the way.
